Co op order~***

Eastwind no salt peanut butter~5# of smooth and 5# of chunky
1 case of Ezekiel sprouted 9" Tortillas
1 case of Annie's Goddess Dressing~for days I don't make my own dressing
15# of Organix puppy food~for the new dog that arrived at our door a couple weeks ago

Local bulk order from Indy Fruits
1 case of Heirloom navel oranges
1 case of grape tomatoes
5# of Jewel Yams

***I order from two different sources each month, therefore I have labeled this Co op order #1
#2 will not be taking orders for July, so I will only have 1 order until August and then be back to my usual bi-monthly ordering

On my previous co op order I purchase Daiya Cheeses!!! These cheeses are so good.
Last week I made Quesadella's for the first time in forever! The cheese melts perfectly and taste great. I used Ezekiel sprouted tortillas and filled them with just the Daiya Cheese the first night. The second night I made them I added some black bean and corn salsa to the cheese and then closed the quesadella maker. This was an awesome meal. I also served, shredded lettuce, fresh made quacamole, salsa and Sour Supreme~mock sour cream and Guiltless gourmet Baked Corn chips.... I could eat this every night!!
I also wanted to mention to anyone out there with IBS or digestive issues~that the Daiya Cheese has not troubled my IBS, in fact I found it to be very helpful...if you know what I mean.
Cow milk cheese can be constipating for people, as it is hard to digest...even if it is raw milk cheese. I found that Daiya cheese had a normalizing effect. I plan to make use of this cheese on a regular basis.
The ingredients for the mozzerella cheese are: Filtered water, tapioca and/or arrowroot flours, non-GMO expeller pressed canola and /or non-GMO expeller pressed safflower oil, coconut oil, pea protein, salt, vegan natural flavours, inactive yeast, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, citric acid (for flavor).
If you are not 100% raw and miss cheese...Try Daiya Cheese!!! Yummy!!!
If you co op you'll get the best price, but if not you can go to their site and find out where to buy it.
BTW~I receive nothing from promoting this...Daiya doesn't even know me...but I know them and I love their cheese!

Barley Mint Superfood Breakfast Pudding and Red Lentil Soup

After my morning devotions and a.m. smoothie I hit the kitchen..put on a batch of organic garbanzo's for salad toppings and a batch of hummus...made some red lentil soup and my Barley mint Breakfast pudding.

Barley Mint Breakfast Pudding

In the Vita-mix or blender process until creamy:
1 small banana with about
2 c. of
mango
strawberries
blackberries
1 heaping teaspoon of Just Barley Powder by Pure Planet
1 T. Manitoba Hemp Seeds
Blend and top with minced spearmint leaves or dried mint.
You may want to place it in the fridge to make it good and cold, if you are serving it to your children. This will allow the flavors to meld a bit more, especially if you are using dried mint leaves.

This is a super breakfast! The fruit is full of antioxidants and vitamins, etc.. The hemp seeds are full of protein and omega 3 & 6's. Just Barley is one of my all time favorites. It is 100% organic and it is dried at low temperatures..below 80degrees so as to maintain the enzyme integrity. It has no fillers, binders or anything but Barley Juice Extract. It has a very pleasant taste and sometimes I just eat it off the spoon! The 80gram jar has 80 servings, so it is very cost effective. When you don't have time to juice or just want to detox or alkalize your body...drink Barley Juice!!!

RED LENTIL SOUP~this will fill a big crock pot

3 C. of red lentils
2 sweet valdalia onions~chopped (I use my Vita-mix) you can also use dried
1 T. real salt
8-12 c. water (start out with 8c. and add to desired consistency)
8 cloves of garlic~minced or use powdered
4 c. of diced tomatoes or use canned
1 carrot shredded
1 stalk of celery diced
6 T. Seitenbacher Vegetable Broth seasoning
1 strip of Wakame or sea veggie of your choice
1 C. of brown rice pasta (optional)
2 leaves of Swiss Chard chopped

I place everything but the pasta and Swiss Chard in a stockpot and bring it to a boil then lower heat to medium for 30 mins. Then add the pasta and cook until al dente. I then place the soup in my crock pot on keep warm add the chopped Swiss Chard and it is ready whenever we are.
Serve this with a green salad.

This is a hearty soup that will usually last us for about 3 days of lunch or dinners. It is chock full of goodness. Protein from the lentils, vitamins and minerals from the veggies and usable iodine from the sea vegetable. I will generally add wakame to my soups because I can hid it's appreance from my children easily, especially if I add other greens to the pot. You may also use flakes or wait to add the sea veggie flakes at the table. My favorite is dulse granules...these granules can be sprinkled on just about anything..even fruit salad...I love them! Dulse is my favorite sea vegetable. I get mine from Canada, it is sun dried and delicious....thanks goes to my daughter's new father in law who is a Canadian who turned me on to his source!!!

Remember to be active today if you are able. Get your body moving..even if it is only housecleaning...do it vigorously..strive to add more exercise to your life. Our bodies were made to move and to work..they will function better if we make exercise a daily discipline in our lives.
I'm off to do my Yoga practice...for strength and flexibilitystretching and flexibility are good...it reduces your risk of injury...

Warm Days of Sun and Boating

I've been absent for a few days to hang out on the boat with family and friends. We have a pontoon boat and live on a lake, if you do not already know it....soooo Lord willing our summer will be spent making memories out on the lake.
I am still power walking with my friend, doing P90X with Tony Horton and getting in some peak fitness workouts on my treadmill....eating healthy and enjoying the gifts of God...family, friends and life!!
I may be brief at times over the summer and just post new recipes, so as to not neglect the people I love.
Check out the article on Peak Fitness by Dr. Mercola and Kathy Smith, if you want to make changes in your body through exercise...it only takes 20 mins a day! My treadmill has a program that adhere's to what they are teaching, which I have been doing at least 2-3 times a week in addition to my other workouts. Right now I am a little extreme on my workouts...but you do not have to be to make positive changes in your health and body composition. My youngest daughter is doing the same program on the treadmill, she watches a DVD while doing it so the time will go quickly. I encourage you to find something to keep your children active. We need to be a positive example for our children and others in taking care of our bodies....not a religion...a lifestyle....a healthy lifestyle....
so we can feel good and take care of our responsibilites and enjoy the life we have been given. It is very difficult to do these things if we are sick and tired all the time. I can say this because..I used to be sick and tired all of the time and missed out on many things...but through a healthy diet and exercise...lifestyle changes....I am a different person than I used to be. I thank God for this!
Start small, make one positive change and when you conquer that one, add another...
take care of yourself....and pray for wisdom and help

Cacao Fudge

My daughter and I just whipped this up for a treat today!

Cacao Vanilla Fudge

1 1/2 c. of raw almonds (soaked for 1 hr. and then air dryed)~soaking is optional
1/2 c. raw tahini or raw almond butter
3 T. raw honey or agave
1 1/2 t. vanilla
2 T. cacao powder (you may use carob or cocoa powder)

Process almonds in food processor and then add tahini, honey, vanilla. Process until it is well mixed. Add cacao powder and process. You may need to add a tiny bit of water to get it to mix. Don't add too much.
Remove from processor and use hands to mix thoroughly if needed and then press into a small glass baking dish. Refrigerate for at least one hour if you can wait. Cut into small squares. You may also roll the mix into balls and coat with unsweetened shredded coconut, cacao, carob or crushed nuts.
Enjoy!!!

Be creative with this recipe~ you can give it a different flavor by eliminating the cacao and using organic peanut butter instead of the tahini for PB fudge or use walnuts instead of almonds...nuts are very versatile...use your imagination and see what you come up with...afterthought...make two batches..one peanut butter, one cacao...cover the PB balls with the cacao for a chocolate peanut butter cup/ball version...mmmmmmmmmm

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

Today, my hubster and I are hanging around the house...relaxing a bit, cleaning our fishing boat and working out....it is a hot one here in Indy.
Our pontoon is in the shop but we are hoping to have it back soon. Out here where we live, they have a nice fireworks show over the lake..all the boat people gather on the lake to watch it. It is a lot of fun, so we are looking forward to getting our boat back so we can attend this event and make some memories for our kiddo's.
Yesterday, was a busy day...Babysitter safety training for my daughter, dinner with my dad & step mom for Father's Day and then off to hear the Big Band sounds with a vocalist that sounds like Frank Sinatra. The concert was at one of our local parks that sports an amphitheatre where they hold several summer concerts. For several years we have been taking our kids to hear the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra there. We look forward to it each year....another one of those memories our children will keep for a life time. I encourage you to create memories for you and your family, or significant loved ones.
I hold many fond memories of my childhood. We used to have Sunday dinner's at my grandma's...the adults would play cards after dinner and the cousins watched or played together...several times as I was growing up my dad would take us to Florida with my grandparents...... on Friday nights we would almost always go out to eat...."Mug and Bun", was a favorite....not the healthiest place....and I still long for it and every great once in a while, it has been a cheat meal...we had fun together on those Friday nights and we always looked forward to it and we still talk about it...we played board games, card games and went on hikes, and many other things...remember to spend quality time with those you love...if we are blessed, most of us will keep memories for a lifetime...fill them up...make them count for good..and
for other's good. It is easy to do something for ourselves, but sometimes it takes sacrifice to do for others...Remember to serve one another in LOVE...Love conquers all.....

Today's eats~
a.m. smoothie

Strawberry lemonade~strawberries, lemon, water and stevia

Nancy's cultured/organic plain yogurt*** with honey sweetened granola and chopped banana
(if you need/want to get some dairy probiotics in you..check out Nancy's)

Large salad of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, Daiya vegan shredded cheese and 1 t. of Annie's Goddess dressing

plate with celery, chopped tomatoes and beet salad with a drizzle of Annie's Goddess dressing...bottom of the bottle
8-10 Mary's Gone Cracker's original

1/2 of a brown rice cake with organic no salt peanut butter

smoothie~raw almond milk, frozen banana, cacao powder, cacao nibs, 1 t. mesquite

For my husband's lunch I usually make a couple of sandwiches on sesame Ezekiel Bread...he has informed me he doesn't like the top of the bread, saying it is too hard. I decided to cut if off tonight while making it...I just could not throw it away. It is excellent sprouted bread and it is not cheap....so I toasted it and dabbed a bit of Earthbalance soy free spread on it sprinkled it with cinnamon & powdered stevia. I would say if I put it all together it was equilvalent to 1/4 of a piece of bread, maybe less. It was pretty good... while making it a thought came to me...I could make croutons out of it for my husband's salad's....he loves croutons! Let nothing go to waste...

**As of late I have added a few food items into my diet for various reasons...raw milk cheese, Ezekiel bread and now I am trying a little yogurt. At this time, I am test driving (as my husband would say) these item to see what effects they have on my digestion and my body composition. As soon as our local community hospital offers another free health screening I plan to check my cholesterol to see what effects the dairy products are having.

P90X Legs and Back and AB ripper X, 30 mins run/walk on treadmill
BTW~my body composition has changed so much that my husband commented on my legs today.. me happy!

Friday

Today I went walking this a.m. with a friend of mine. I am still hoping to inspire my neighbors to get out and walk for health. I will be putting out another notice in our community flyer in July and we will see what happens.
For now, my friend and I are walking two days a week for about an hour...up and down hills in our neighborhood.
I am hoping to receive my new shoes today~via the UPS man, as the ones I am wearing are ready to retire for gardening shoes...or the trash can.

After my walk this a.m. my broccoli in the fridge was calling me, so I made 3 pounds of broccoli salad and after a little marination, I tried it out. I topped it with the Daiya shredded Cheddar cheese....mmmmmm....if you can get you hands on this, it is really good. It has a smokey flavor...thanks to Green and Crunchy for showing us a picture of her co op order.

CSA share for today and The Summer Fun Run 1 mile/5K

Today is our CSA pick up so I tried to clean out my fridge. :) as I said I tried. Our CSA shares are so abundant I just cannot get to everything before the coming week. This is where the dehydrator comes in...I like to dry whatever I cannot use.
With some of the leftovers I made some long grain brown rice with celery, onion and shelled peas and a stir fry..with portabellas and all the veggies that needed to go...green onions, swiss chard, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, zuchinni and shelled peas. I added some Bragg's Liquid Amino's, fresh grated ginger and a gourmet sesame seed seasoning.
Yesterday, I made some tabouli click here for other variations on this recipe

Tabouli

1 large bunch of parsley~chopped/minced~I use the stems and all
1 c. cooked or soaked quinoa
1 pint basket of cherry tomatoes halved
1 cucumber diced
1 large green onion~chopped
2 lemons juiced
1/4 c. olive oil
1 t. cumin
2 T. dried peppermint
black pepper

CSA SHARE TODAY~

Broccoli
Kohlrabi
enormous head of Cabbage
2 lbs of shell pea
small bag of sugar snap peas
bunch of Swiss Chard
bag of mustard greens
bag of mixed salad greens
large bunch of parsley
2 yellow squash
2 summer squash
spearmint
peppermint
garlic scapes
celery cuttings
lemon balm
basil
they had small heads of lettuce as extra's but I got there late today and they were all gone

Oh my goodness...will you look at all those yummy green things. We are blessed indeed!
Last week my kohlrabi was purple, so this week I choose a green one. I have heard that the purple is a bit sweeter. I will let you know what I think when I peel the one I got today. I like to peel mine and cut it in french fry sticks and eat them raw....as is. They are part of the cabbage family nd have a very mild flavor, similar to a broccoli stem or cabbage heart and are very crunchy. 1 c. of raw Kohlrabi has 140% vitamin C, 3% calcium, 3% Iron, and 1% Vitamin A, 2% protein, 5 gms of fiber. If you have never tried it, I dare you. It looks weird but it taste great.

Wednesday's are also our day to walk/run in the Parks and Recreation Summer Fun Run 1 mile/5K. My daughter and I are participating again this year. The Parks and Recreation of the county we live in began this fun event last year. Each week they hold it at a different park. It is free and open to everyone. They have mapped out a 1 mile and a 5K. You just sign in each week. Last year if you attended 7 out of 9 of the walk/runs you received a free Tech shirt. At the final event I won a $50 gift card to the Athlete's Foot Locker. They do not time you, so you just check in and go! It was a good and hot run today and we are looking forward to next week.

Today's eats~
a.m. smoothie
1 pint of Green Juice

Rice and Stir Fry veggies (al dente)

kohrabi, cukes, yellow bell peppers

2 slices of gluten free bread with Earthbound (no soy) spread, cinnamon and powdered stevia

black bean soup over Kale and Swiss Chard Salad
1 mini clif bar

after the run~
kohrabi/cukes
Tabouli drizzled with Annie's Goddess Dressing
organic corn chips

BLACK BEAN SOUP

pre-soaked black beans and cooked them in a pressure cooker
with dried onion flakes, garlic
After pressure cooking the beans I added:
wakame (sea vegetable), seitenbacher veggie broth powder, 1 c. of shredded carrots and simmered them for awhile and then placed them in the crock pot on keep warm

I made the soup yesterday~so before going to bed tonight I added the leftover veggie stir fry to the beans for tomorrow. I like doing this to extend my soups and to change it up a bit.

CardioX today and I did the 5K at about 14min/mile...I want to run, but my knees won't co-operate. :(

Wild Cow Vegetarian In Nashville, TN

I totally forgot to mention that when I went to Nashville, TN to visit my daugther that we went to a great Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurant called, The Wild Cow Vegetarian Restaurant
Thinking about it now, makes me want to drive there now!
It was so delicious. Here is a link for their menu
They have raw lettuce wraps with walnut pesto and raw cookies...for those of you who only eat raw!!!
I had their "Mock Chicken Salad"...when ordering I assumed it was raw but if I remember correctly it was tempeh. It was a very generous salad, but when I saw the hummus on my daughter's plate, I had to get a side order for myself. It is a cucumber-dill hummus and it was delicious. It was not heavy like traditional hummus. They gave me so much I had to send it home with my daughter...she was happy!
The restaurant was clean, friendly and had so many options to choose from.
I also had GT's Kombucha tea with my meal...I was in heaven. I truly love it when you can find a place to eat that is sooo nutritious and delicious..oh yeah, and I could not believe the prices. It was extremely affordable. If you are ever in Nashville, Tennessee I highly recommend this restaurant.

Monday~Running Shoes

Monday's are the beginning of the work week for many of us. I am one of those people. I worked alone today, therfore I got an intense workout while cleaning house. As I have said before, I make the most of it, and it usually wears me out....in a good way...so I have decided to adjust my workout schedule and make Monday's my rest day.
I went for four solid hours of scrubbing, dusting, sweeping (some of this I do on my knees and crawl around)then there are are the three staircase steps I craw up to sweep, and then the mopping. I do like my job...I burn a lot of calories, and it makes me very hungry...so with that I'll tell you what I ate today~

a.m. superfood smoothie

Green Juice~celery, swiss chard, lemon, ginger and stevia
1 c. blueberries

2 slices of Ezekiel bread (sesame) mustard and raw milk cheese
1 yellow bell pepper sliced up
1 c. of cherry tomatoes

Sundried tomato Pasta
Kale and Swiss Chard Salad
baby carrots dipped in hummus
Strawberry Lemonade Julius~stawberries, lemon juice, water, stevia, ice

Mary's Gone Crackers and raw milk cheese

Today I ordered a new pair of running shoes and while gathering information about the type of shoe I need I ran across this article "How to Buy Top Brand Running Shoes For Girls
This link also provides other useful links about running.
BTW~I chose the ASIC's Gel-Nimbus 11's...I'll let you know how I like them.
I underpronate, which means I walk on the outsides of my feet and I also have a high arch and these were one of their recommendations.
This article will tell you how to determine what type of feet you have.

Sunday~Puppies and Receptions

We had another hot and steamy day here in Indy. It was a great day to be outside and enjoy God's creation with my loved ones.
Two days ago a puppy showed up at on our front deck. He appears to be an akita mix. He looks likes a little teddy bear. His hair is fluffy and his eyes are green. My husband wants to shave his body hair off to make him look like a lion. :)
We already have two big dogs and one of them was a stray/drop off..but puppies are so irresistible. He is so sweet and cries when he needs to go do his business. We figure he is about 12 weeks old, and that he is part of a litter that was dropped off out here where we live... we found out that a neighbor has a similar looking pet that she adopted that was a stray. In our community we have a lady who takes info about lost and found pets and so far...no calls...so it looks like we will have a new dog named Sidney. My daughter is thrilled!! Some day she hopes to be a Vet.
Sooo....this morning was time with the puppy and then off to a Wedding Reception for friends. It was a beautiful reception. They were actually married a week ago in Key West on the beach...so we watched their marriage ceremony on Video and the rest of the reception was a traditional wedding reception... Fun was had by all and the Bride was stunning.
We seem to be in a season of weddings and babies....our children's friends are getting married and beginning to have children....I forsee this as being a yearly thing for many years to come, since I still have two children at home. This is a great time of life...a time of new beginnings.

Today while at the reception I made a decision to partake of the cake in honor of celebrating our friends wedding. I try not to make my diet a do or die thing....so I was allowing myself a cheat....I have been eating good and feeling great, so I didn't think too much of this...until the pressure began in my eyes and my sinus below my eyes!!! SUGAR!!! UGG!
I really like feeling good, so I won't be doing this again.
The most important thing today was to be there to celebrate their marriage...it wasn't about the cake. :)
I have another wedding to attend next month...so, I'm going to plan ahead and make the decision not to eat the cake...but to bask in the joy of the Bride and Groom and their marriage..
It is always a good idea to plan ahead. When you do this it is easier not to make quick decisions that you may regret later....this applies to all areas of life.

~~~~~~
my eats today~
a.m. superfood smoothie
bowl of fresh blueberries/blackberries/strawberries
Kale/Swiss Chard Salad
Sun Dried tomato Pasta w/ garbanzo's(recipe below)
1 slice of Ezekiel bread with mustard a bit of raw cheese
at the reception~
plate of mixed salad greens that had a few dried cranberries and almond bits
piece of cake
water
Immediately after the reception my husband, daughter and I took a 2 mile power walk in this incredible humid/hot weather today...it felt good and I was hoping to burn the sugar off and afterwards the pressure in my eyes diminished
Crunchy Pea Salad
Beet Salad
garlic hummus and baby carrots
This pasta was so good I had to make myself stop eating it!!!
SUNDRIED TOMATO PASTA
mix together:
1 pkg of whole wheat spiral pasta~cooked and drained
handful of sundried tomatoes cut in thin slivers
drizzled pasta with olive oil
1 can of garbanzo's drained
and then added Sundried Vinegarette I made the other day...
this is all I remember about the vinegarette I made
Sundried tomatoes
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
lemon juice
water
irish moss to thicken
not sure if I added any additional spices...maybe some italian ones...I'll have to try to figure it out the next time I make it. :)..maybe basil and garlic
I blended this in the Vita Mix on until smooth and thickened. It made about 1 qt.
Crunchy Pea Salad~ Double Cacao Nib Ice Cream~
Yesterday I made a recipe similar to the one that Charlene Faris turned me on to, back in 1996. I met her at our local library. She was giving a free class on vegetarianism. I have changed it up quite a bit, but that is what is great about vegetables...they mix together so well.
CRUNCHY PEA SALAD
1 c. cooked or soaked quinoa
1-2 c. frozen peas (the more peas the sweeter)
4-6 garlic cloves~minced
1 large green onion~they whole thing~chopped
1-2 bell peppers
2 celery stalks diced
salt & pepper to taste
make italian dressing
olive oil~drizzle over it
lemon juice~splash
balsamic vinegar~splash
oregano
basil
dash of rosemary/thyme
I also added some italian blend herbs (pre-mixed)
sorry no measurements on the dressing...I just eyeball this
Mix this together and be amazed...it is delicious....and pretty much a complete meal
While checking my Facebook page today a friend mentioned she was eating cacao ice cream for B-fast....sounded good, so I hit the kitchen..
DOUBLE CACAO NIB ICE CREAM
1 1/2 frozen banana's
splash of unsweetened coconut milk
1 t. lucuma
approx. 1 T. of cacao powder
nibs to taste
I blended this in the Vita-Mix using the plunger and my son and I enjoyed a good serving of this and topped it with hemp seeds...
This made about 1 1/4 c. total...two reasonable servings of soft serve
I visited one of our local Farmer's Market's today...I was a little late, so I missed the greens...believe me, when I say I do not need anymore...
When my husband and I got married 10 1/2 years ago we were blending two families...5 children~3 boys and 2 girls...so we decided we needed two fridges...well since then we have acquired two more. Since we always buy in bulk this is very practical for us.. Right now, one of them is full of kefir water...seems it produces more than we can keep up with right now. I have to hibernate my grains..anyone know how to do this???
Anyway, back to the Farmer's Market. I purchased 4 cucumbers and a basket of beets. I love to be able to eat the skin of my cucumbers, and when they are fresh they are so crisp. I am soaking the beets right now to get the dirt off of them and I'll be making a beet salad for later. Spring Vegetables are so cleansing for the internal organs of the body. Take advantage of what is in season....and eat it raw if you can.
today's eats~
a.m. superfood smoothie~the usual
handful of strawberries
2 slices of gluten free bread with mustard, raw milk cheese and a sliced tomato
Calcium Salad(Kale/Chard with sliced cucumbers added and Gomasio
Double Cacao Nib ice cream
Crunchy Pea Salad
garlic hummus and baby carrots
Need some Calcium~try this Salad
While reading blogs the other day I came across a salad similar to this..I don't remember whose it was or exactly what they included..but here is my version. While making it I realized it has loads of calcium, so for those asking me, Where do I get my calcium?
KALE AND SWISS CHARD SALAD~ CALCIUM SALAD
1/2 bunch of Kale~shredded
1/2 bunch of swiss chard shredded
super large green onion chopped
4" of garlic scapes or use regular garlic to taste
1 T. Bragg's Liquid Aminos
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/4 c. cold pressed extra virgin olive oil
handful of cherry tomatoes halved
1 can of organic garbanzo beans drained or better yet, make your own
I did not measure the lemon and olive oil...but it is close..I just eyeballed it.
massage all items (except the tomatoes and garbanzo beans)..until it is wilted top with beans and tomatoes and toss together...enjoy!!!
it is better if you let it marinate for an hour or so..but you can eat is right away
Sprinkle Gomasio on top for even more calcium
GOMASIO
makes 1/2 c.
1/2 c. raw natural sesame seeds
2 t. sea salt
Grind seeds into a crumbly powder and add salt
store in freezer or fridge
Chickpeas (Aka garbanzo beans)give you a whopping 49-53mg of calcium/100gms
Swiss Chard has 18mg per cup
Kale has 90 mg per cup
sesame seeds have 351 mg per 1/4 c.
Where do I get my Calcium??
Someone asked where I get my calcium. I get mine from dark leafy green, nuts and seeds. By eating a high raw diet (high alkaline) my body is able to absorb more calcium from the things I eat.
here are a few links to throughly explain what I am referring to.
Our CSA farm seems to be doing great. I am very pleased with the harvest this year. It is abundant and I am actually having a little difficulty using everything, because I've not been home much lately. Tomorrow I need to get into the kitchen and do some prepping. I do buy other produce at the store to add a bit more color to our diet. I really like tomatoes, bell peppers and carrots and I usually eat these items every day.
tomorrow~
I'm thinking...layered pea salad, kohlrabi chips, tabouli, and asparagus soup...
Today my daughter worked with me so we only had a 3 hr workout...cleaning houses...then off to redeem our 30% off coupon at Kohl's for some summer wear. You might call trying on half of the store as a work out. lol. My daughter always wants to dress me when we go shopping.
Monday
Last week I was off from work...so after working today... a high powered vigorous house cleaning job for 4.5 hrs., I was toast!...We also had very busy weekend at King's Island and two Birthday parties that we attended. All of this must have caught up with me and I had to take a nap. Long time since that has happened.
I ate some garlic hummus and my son made some veggie pasta and I had some of that, so I think I over carb-ed it (with not enough protein in my diet today) and this probably contributed to my sleepiness.
Tomorrow I'll have to be more consciencious of my eats and timing.
Life.....Create the Good......60 days to juice up your life
Hi everyone out there in blog land! It was nice to take a break from blogging, but I have much on my mind I'd like to share....I'd just like to put down in writing for myself and hope that in some way it can bless, encourage or help someone out there not to feel alone in this journey we call life.
The reason for my absence was because I was making a road trip to Tennesse to be with my newly married daughter. In the last month her grandfather has passed away...then she got a call from her husband, who is in the Army Reserve that he was notified and to be shipped out two days later for a three week trip overseas and then after he gets back for a short visit he will be deployed for a little over a year. I had hoped to be a comfort to my daughter as all of this came suddenly. We had a good visit together. I went alone, so we were able to spend time without my usual distractions of life...as a mom and wife I always have this guilty feeling that I don't spend enough indivdual time with my family...so I was grateful to be alone with her.
Two days after returning home, my daughter was in a car accident, where a man ran a red light (admitting he was not paying attention) and t-boned her
car, bending the frame and both passenger doors are inside the vehicle. It is a miracle of God's protection over her life...and I am thankful for His watch care.
Remember to pray for your children. Life is fleeting. Take time to pay attention to the moment.
