Heart Health and CNN's "The Last Heart Attack

Every year Americans are having one Million heart attacks. That is about one heart attack every thirty seconds. Most of us know someone who is at risk for a heart attack or perhaps you or a loved one has had one. Warning signs and when to call 911

Heart Attack~ call 911

Chest and Upper Body Discomfort~ Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.

Shortness of Breath~with or without Chest Discomfort

Other symptoms~ may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

Cardiac Arrest Symptoms ~call 911 and begin CPR right away

Sudden loss of responsiveness~ No response to tapping on shoulders.

No Normal breathing~ The victim does not take a normal breath when you tilt the head up and check for at least five seconds

Please don’t wait until you reach this point. Educate yourself about what you can do to prevent heart disease for yourself and your loved ones.
