Super Immune Building Pea Salad

Super Immune Building Pea Salad

2 bags of frozen green peas
2 large spring onions chopped
1 large orange bell pepper chopped
3 large radishes shredded
1/2 bunch of celery chopped fine
1 very large garlic clove
dollop of Vegenaise to moisten

I made a large bowl of mixed salad greens and topped it with this pea salad and 1/2 of a chopped tomato
and sprinkled it with dulse flakes...yes, it was good!

According to Dr. Furhman every item in that salad is nutrient dense except the Vegenaise....You could substitute an avocado for a healthy fat, then it would all be good....
or make a balsamic dressing with almonds or walnuts for the fat and blend it down.....
next time I think I'll try this....then it would be a Superfood Super Immune Building Salad!!!!
If you want learn about building your Immune System, check out Dr. Furhman's new book, "Super Immunity" The Essential Nutrition Guide for Boosting Your Body's Defenses to Lie Longer, Stronger, and Disease Free

My daughter took this picture today...
Can anyone tell me what this is?
Since we moved out here 12 years ago I have seen the most unusual  critters and such.  :)
God's handiwork never ceases to amaze me!

Make sure you are taking time to behold of the beauty around you....

My Daughters appetizer/dinner  plate...she was very proud of herself and said I should take a picture for my blog. Pictured is a bowl of organic Italian  baby greens with organic yellow heirloom tomatoes, a honeycrisp apple from one of our local orchards, carrot juice, organic raisins and pineapple chunks...obviously she likes fruit more than greens.....so I had her drink some Barley juice before eating.   :)

1 small red onion diced
sliced fennel with tops
balsamic vinegar

Creamy Pea Salad

1 bag of organic frozen peas

This is part of my young adult son's lunch he is taking with him to the, "Feast of the Hunter's Moon".  He will also be taking~garbanzo dilly bean mash, Jalapeno Chips, Green Superfood smoothies, honeycrips apples & bananas.  We checked out the menu at the event and it is full of meaty choices.  My son is a strick vegan, so I will load him up with eats for the day.
Always plan ahead and make sure if you are planning a trip or an all day event that you will be able to eat according to your diet plan that works for you.

This cool container above was purchased at Big Lots for about $3 and the lid has built in fork & knife. It is great for packing a meal to go.

since I began this phase of my journey back in April of this year I have gained muscle mass, strength and  increased energy.  The conclusion of this matter is you must eat sufficient amounts of healthful foods to flourish..and to time your meals according to your energy expenditure levels.
Prior to this phase I was not working outside the home, nor were my exercise routines consistent...therefore I required less food &  had less muscle mass/strength...sounds like common sense, huh...??.  If you are lacking energy and not where you would like to be physically, I encourage you to make a committment to begin working toward this goal.  Do your research, know your body and work out a plan or find someone to help guide you in the right direction....Get started.....be an example to other's...and if you have children...be a good example to them...
I've heard it said...."Whatever you do in moderation, your children will do in Excess"...scary thought....take it to heart and begin to make positive changes today.

Be the change you wish to see in the world~Gandhi

My son has been a very strict vegan for some time now and he is ready to go super high raw!!
This is such an encouragement to me.  His goal someday is to be in the alternative health field.
He is taking college exams at one of our local colleges, while studying at home.  This is a very cost effective way to get a degree.  It is called CLEP~college level exam program.  It has been around for years.  They started it a long time ago for the older crowd that needed to go back to college to get additional education or additional degrees.  Your guidance counselor will not tell you this is available...but you can get a 2 year business degree or other degrees without even enrolling in college.  My son began this his junior year of high school and was half why there before his senior year...so I graduated him a year early and he is just about to complete his 2 year degree!! saving himself TIME and lots of $$$.  Google it and find out how you can do this...if you have a child that is homeschooled you can get started earlier than after High School or if you child is considering college this may be an option for him/her.
Back to his health career...while studying for his CLEP exams he is also doing some self study programs in health & wellness.  So he is feeding the family all of the info he is reading!!! Yippee!
This is a good refresher course for me and also an encouragement or irritation to the rest of the family...hehehe!!
